ELMOTE XX - Family of computerized stands for complex testing of electric motors


ELMOTE XX family stands is dedicated to fully computerized measurement and testing of electric motors and may be used in the research-development of a new product and also in the check up phase for large series production.
The stands are carried out on customer's demand, in small series or single units, and may be adapted to customer requirements since they are equipped with a wide range of elements for simulating the real working regime of the motor.

The data are rated values, generally able to be obtained. On demand, they may be extended or, according to circumstances, supplemented with other parameters.

A major characteristic of ELMOTE XX-type stands is the use of a very powerful dedicated software packed allowing the operator to quickly develop any kind of complex test or trial program, offering multiple capabilities for data processing, automatic editing of reports from database.

A particular advantage is the possibility to link several tests stands into a network, each of them having different or same configuration, and all of them able to be monitored by a central control computer. So, some opportunity arises to carry out flexible industrial measurement systems for manufacturers.

General description of ELMOTE 03

ELMOTE 03 equipment is an automatic test stand, specialized for the electrical and mechanical parameters measurement of the electric single phase universal motors, specially for drilling machines, angle grinders or other electrical tools driven by electrical single phase motors.

Various tests programs may be run on the stand, providing permanent computerized measurement (usually, more accurate then 1%):

Remarks: In order to measure resistance and temperature of windings, for any of possible connection configurations, the stator is measured automatically and the rotor is measured manually by using a “four points” measurement pencil. Automatic measurement of the rotor temperature may be performed also, but only for machines provided with window access to commutator blades. High accuracy could be obtained by adjusting the measured value by exponential time regression method.

The stand ELMOTE 03 consists of two main parts : machine mounting bench and computerized unit equipped with a PC based process computer. The process computer may be controlled and programmed by the operator using a local keyboard and viewing the measured value and the state of the entire stand on a graphic panel. A standard PC keyboard is also available for introducing the external database parameters of the tested machines.

Running a trial program may be easily carried out by using pre-loaded program written on the central computer. At any time, a manual mode of operating is available, consisting in keeping constant (by software algorithm) the programmed value of torque, supply voltage, consumed current, speed, electrical power or mechanical power of the tested machine. At any time is displayed on screen, in stabilized condition, the entire list of the measured or computed (like motor efficiency, for example) or machine parameters.

Designing a new program, for a new machine test, is made on central computer (connected with the stand by an Ethernet network) by using a graphic medium programmer or by direct using of a specialized BASIC interpreter supplemented with specific functions.
